These computer laboratories will serve to minimize gaps in access to gadgets and the Web by offering public computer system access for individuals with disabilities, Marylanders without long-term residence (i.e. unhoused), veterans, and our incarcerated & returning citizens. The program supplies grants of as much as $65,000 for up to 100% for the production, upgrade, and/or retrofit of computer system labs/centers throughout Maryland.

The financing source for the program is the American Rescue Strategy Act of 2021 and all federal rules required of the funding apply to the program. The Maryland Workplace of Statewide Broadband is making up to approximately $11.8 million offered through Connect Maryland's Network Facilities Grant Program Round 2.

Financing will support jobs that improve broadband transportation capacity, interconnection, resiliency, redundancy, and long-lasting network scalability. These jobs are planned to enhance the performance, reliability, and sustainability of broadband networks serving homeowners, businesses, and public-interest uses throughout Maryland.
